Why do we carbonate beer: How to make the perfect pint at home

Would you want to drink a flat coke or lemonade? Carbonated beer, apart from tasting much better is necessary.

Different beers will require different levels of carbonation. Don’t forget that capping your bottles is essential to protect your home brew from any kind of bacteria. A screw top lid will not be suitable.

So what exactly is carbonation?

Beer and carbon dioxide are sealed in a container under pressure. The beer absorbs the CO2 giving the home brew it's fizz.

Apart from anything else the fizz is the element that quenches the thirst. A flat dreary pint is not gonna do that for you!
